Painting uses standard and UV acrylics. Every stroke is painted by a small robot that is dabbed with a bit of paint and set free to roam again and again. Side panels are stained white and trimmed in black.
Montage: CoMix - comic book images are juxtaposed with speaking bubbles and/or onomatopoeia to present a single priciple in a hero’s story. Each composition represents the psycology of a Dream, Nightmare or Reality on the painted surface and 1 side panel.
Assemblage: 12 UV LEDs are mounted into the surface of the paintings. Keyed on/off switch & robot artist w/ their own sound bubble are part of top panel. Wiring is hidden in rear. 3D printed USB battery holder & floating mount, always level system for easy removal.

Cavebot Art History

- Biomorphic: the mark making and process are organic.
- A.I.: I’ve dubbed the robots “Cavebots”, because they are the first robot artists. Spirit Animals that each have a unique personality and symbiotically dérive (French philosophy) a composition.
- Abstract: paint is laid down without intention of representation.
- Fauve: wild colors include UV fluorescence.
- Blue Riders: The Cavebots literally ride the pigment.
- Fluxus: “Make a robot painting.” One never knows what one will get until after it is over.
- POP!: comic book and black light.
- Technology: It is my thesis that all great art has utilized the latest gadget or principle.
- Keyed On/Off switch unlocks Duality of white or black lighting --- transforms us thru veil of consciousness.
